Innovation

Addressing the changing needs of the biopharma and pharmaceutical markets is a twofold approach.

First, the team at AdvantaPure™ actively and continually engages in the industry conversations that generate our new product development efforts to bring new solutions to the biopharma and pharmaceutical markets. These ideas take shape in our labs as we refine them in-house, under continual observation, to arrive at the best conclusion attainable.

Second, we support our industry partners in their search for solutions to their unique challenges. Our in-house capabilities offer a variety of test capabilities that allow the team to find the answers to questions quickly and efficiently to facilitate product changes or new product development.

With these approaches our team of seasoned experts is bringing new products to market and supporting the refinement of existing products to support the industry in the best way possible.

The in-house R&D suite of lab areas supports the robust exploration and validation of innovative concepts that yield new products and services for the industries we support.

Supporting a range of needs, our equipment and capabilities provide all that is required to execute the most comprehensive product development initiatives, all under one roof, making the product development process efficient and cost-effective.

Whether the need is an individual test for validation purposes or full-scale, concept-to- manufacture initiatives, our team has the resources to do both and everything in between.

The effectiveness and efficiency of R&D at AdvantaPure relies on the readiness of each of our three distinct test areas and their suite of test equipment to support a variety of unique scenarios.

At this stage of product development, the testing performed in our analytical lab provides valuable data for material characterization for our team.

Typical testing performed include:

  • Differential Scanning Calorimetry
  • Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
  • Rheological Testing
  • Optical Microscopy
  • Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Microscopy

Provides testing capabilities such as:

  • Burst
  • Leak Bubble Emission
  • Bend Radius
  • Tensile
  • Low-temperature Freeze
  • Heat Aging

The Pilot Lab is a small-scale test area used to validate concepts prior to scaling them for full production runs. It is in this stage of product development that exploration, evaluation and utilization of alternative processing techniques are used to arrive at the ideal scenario.

As the product development team works through their initiatives, the need for specialty connectors, fittings, etc. sometimes arises. The in-house 2-D printing capabilities enable the creation of specialty components designed to support R&D quickly and cost effectively without an interruption in the overall process.

With the discussion about the need for sustainable products leading the conversation, the team at AdvantaPure continues to uphold its commitment to sustainably producing their existing line of products. This commitment also extends to exploring new inherently sustainable offerings as an added value to the sustainability goals of our industry partners.

Since our inception in 1954, sustainable practices in some forms have been evident, with official demonstration occurring in 2011 with the installation of over 4,000 solar panels on the roof of the corporate headquarters moving the location toward 100% energy independent. In 2024, with the award of an EcoVadis Platinum rating placing the organization in the top 1% of companies in our class, our continued commitment is apparent.

With sustainable manufacturing in full swing, AdvantaPure now commits to exploring and producing products that are sustainable for all markets served.

With our release of a new silicone pump tubing in the fall of 2025, the APSPG Max offers users over 300 hours of pump life coupled with low spallation. We look forward to our next release in early 2026 of the AdvantaMatrix, our latest composite pump tubing providing over 1,000 hours of pump life.

While we research new and innovative ways to bring even more tubing to market, our sights are set on how we can offer compliant, affordable tubing and hose products comprised of recycled materials.

With tubing and hose R & D in full swing, our technical team concurrently is running initiatives to develop complementary products such as alternative cap designs and more.
